Ryan Nabil, Founder of the Centre for Emerging Technology and Geopolitics

Ryan Nabil is the Founder of the Centre for Emerging Technology and Geopolitics (CETG).

He previously served as Director of Technology Policy and Senior Fellow at the National Taxpayers Union Foundation in Washington, DC, where he led the organisation's work on AI governance, data privacy, and innovation policy. Previously, he was a Research Fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, where he focused on comparative approaches to AI governance, data policy, and innovation, including the U.S. National AI Research and Development Strategic Plan, broadband policy, and regulatory sandbox design.

He has submitted written evidence and regulatory comments to institutions including the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the U.S. Congress, the European Commission, the UK Parliament, and the United Nations. His writing has appeared in publications including the Financial Times, The Diplomat, Internationale Politik, The Hill, and the Australian Institute of International Affairs.

Earlier in his career, Ryan was a Fox International Fellow at Sciences Po, where he researched European foreign policy toward China and Chinese and Russian approaches to international organisations. He also worked as an Economic Policy Researcher at the American Enterprise Institute and served as a Harold W. Rosenthal Fellow in the United States Congress.

Ryan holds a BA in Economics, cum laude, from Kenyon College and an MA in Global Affairs from Yale University, where he served as a Teaching Fellow in applied quantitative analysis, Chinese politics, and diplomatic history.

He founded CETG to advance independent, rigorous, and interdisciplinary research on how emerging technologies are reshaping geopolitics, economic security, and the evolving international order.
